Roebling Museum

– Volunteering at the Roebling Museum is perfect for college-level students, adults or retirees who have an interest in or passion for US history, science, or engineering.  The Museum needs assistance cataloguing and organizing the museum’s collection, staffing the museum during open hours and teaching educational programs. The Roebling Museum is directly accessible by NJ Transit’s Riverline and is just a short distance from I-295 and the NJ Turnpike. Appreciation events are held throughout the year and volunteers receive free admission to the museum and six family and friends adult admission passes for the calendar year.

The Roebling Museum documents, preserves and exhibits the history of the Roebling family, the company village of Roebling, NJ and the John A. Roebling’s Sons Company. The Roebling Company manufactured steel wire that helped make possible some of the most advanced technological achievements of the industrial age including telegraphs, elevators, airplanes, submarines, and more. The Roebling’s designed and built or erected the cables for several of the world’s greatest suspension bridges including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Washington Bridge.
