The New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium

The New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium, Camden, New Jersey waterfront is seeking energetic, reliable volunteers. Specific training is provided, but a love of animals, people, and aquatic environments is a must. Volunteers work directly with visitors to provide educational support as well as behind the scenes with aquarium staff to provide exhibit maintenance.  Volunteers with M-F availability are particularly needed.  Opportunities are also available for youth, (16+), to work as Guest Experience Volunteers. The National Society of Colonial Dames of America

The National Society of Colonial Dames of America operates two museums: Peachfield, a restored farmhouse in Westampton, and an old schoolhouse in Mount Holly.  Volunteers conduct seasonal tours at Peachfield and at the schoolhouse by appointment.  Volunteers are invited to participate in elementary school living history programs utilizing both sites.  Call 609-267-6996.

Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice

Volunteers are needed to visit with patients facing serious progressive illness, provide pet therapy visits, perform music, provide office support, make bereavement phone calls, make calls to verify patient needs before the weekend, assist in our new Thrift Store, serve as an ambassador and help with special projects. The Muscular Dystrophy Association

The Muscular Dystrophy Association seeks volunteers (16+) to help with general office duties answering phones, preparing mailings, and organizing fundraising projects that may be held in your local community.  Candidates are being sought for the Advisory Council.  Counselors (18+) are also needed for one-week summer camp in June. Margaret Donnelly O’Connor Education Center at Ethel R. Lawrence Homes is in need of volunteers who can share their musical, artistic, performing arts talents or  the ERLH children during our summer program and afterschool enrichment program.
